A taste of power

You seat yourself, with a little trouble from your new skirts and dress. The prince stares at you with large eyes as you seat yourself, and gingerly pick at the feast in front of you. Finally you can take no more, and burst out "Why do you keep staring at me so?"

The prince lowers his face and turns red. "I'm sorry sweet maiden, but never have I before seen a woman of such surpassing beauty. Please, I am simply dying of curiosity, how did you come to my castle gates, and in such a state?"

In between bites of the fablous feast the Prince has set before you, you tell the prince as much as you think he can understand about your strange origins. He siezes upon your transformation as the most signifant part however.

"Why do you find my change to a woman so fasinating?" You find it hard to believe the soft, high voice coming from your lips is your own.

"It was spoken of long ago, by the great Oracle. A lovely maid who is not a maid would slay the evil that blights the land with a sword that is not a sword."

You frown in confusion. "But," you say "that doens't make any sense at all!"

"That is the way of the Oracles, even the minor ones. They are often couched in riddles and phrased so as to appear impossible or unlikey to ever occure. But they all have come true, one after the other. When the event occurs, much becomes clear that was not before. Come, I will summon the castle wizard, and he will tell us more!"
