A New Savior

You don't know how long you are forced to wait in the tube - seconds, minutes, hours, or even days, you aren't sure. After a while, though, the torturous wait is interrupted by a mighty explosion. Immediately an alarm sounds and red lights flash. You hear yelling, and the sound of a violent fight. You hear a crash, and one of the walls of the room your tube is in comes smashing down. A strange figure dashes forward from the hole, instantly becoming invisible. The glass walls of the tube shatter, the liquid pouring out, and you fall to your hands and knees. You catch a brief glimpse of the same figure - this time, with a better view, you can see that it is wearing some kind of futuristic-looking armor - before you black out.

You awaken to find yourself in a comfortable bed, not unlike a hospital bed, in an unfamiliar room. It resembles a hospital room, but more high-tech. You look at yourself, and are disappointed - but not surprised - to find that you are still the same 18-year old blonde girl from before (though the time spent in the tube seems to have darkened your hair a bit). You have somehow been changed into a knee-length silky white dress. You look around the room, and are shocked to see the same figure sitting on a chair a small distance from the bed. Shocked, you let out a yelp and dive under the covers, then peek out. The figure stands and approaches you, and you can now see that this person is a man, about in his early 20s, with unkempt black hair and fierce reddish-brown eyes. He is still wearing his armor: white with gold shoulder pads that have small silver back-pointing spikes, gold lining at the wrists, knees, ankles, and waist, and folded-up, silvery dragon-like metal wings on a jetpack on his back. He holds his helmet, also white with a small back-pointing silver spike on top and a gold visor. The entire thing is very sleek and obviously high-tech.

"Calm down, kid," he says in a stern but calm tone, "I'm not going to hurt you." At that you uncover yourself and sit back up. He continues, "You need to relax, kid. Being released from that suspended state when I shattered that tube was quite a shock."

"Who are you? How...how did you know about me? How did you find me?" you ask fearfully.

The stranger grins. "My name is Drake. Thirak told me about you, as well as your, ah, predicament. As for finding you..." he shrugs. "I am the greatest technological developer this world has ever seen. It wasn't too difficult."

You look around. "Thirak? Where is he? For that matter, where am I?"

Drake smirks slightly. "You are in the medical ward of my compound. A massive airship thousands of feet up, which I built so that I could work in peace." Under any other circumstances, this would have been highly shocking, but what with the recent events, you're not nearly as surprised as you should be. You were transformed into a girl and you met a time-controlling mage, so why not a giant airship? Yeah. "Thirak's just outside, he's been waiting for you, I'll get him."

Drake steps outside and after a few seconds, Thirak enters. "Hey kid. Heh, guess you're wondering what all this is, huh?" You nod. "Well, after I beat the bots, I realized that I would need some help mounting a rescue operation, especially since A) I had no idea where you were and B) Korak has a way to counter my time-control power - its the reason I lost our previous encounter. So I looked around, speeding up using my power, of course, and found Drake. I told him everything and he was more than willing to help out. He located you, mounted an assault, pulled you out, brought you here, and had his robots set you up in the medical ward."

Drake re-enters. He has shed his armor and now wears a black shirt and black pants, and a white trenchcoat that flares out behind him in the same way as Thirak's. "Come on," he says, helping you up, "We have much to do if we are to stop Korak." He leads you and Thirak to what he calls the control room - a massive room with all sorts of complex equipment and a large, complex computer terminal occupying the far wall. Drake sits at it and begins typing away.

"First of all, while you were out, I did much research regarding your condition. First of all, it is possible to change you back to normal. However in order to do so, I must have the machine that started all this. Also, there is not much time left to do so. If you are not returned to normal soon, within a couple days approximately, your mind will shift naturally to match your new body. It is likely that if you are allowed to remain in this form, you may forget about your past life entirely and this will become your new reality."

You seethe with fury. Thirak looks at you, then steels himself, punching his fist into his open palm. "Then let's get that machine."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Later, you, Thirak, and Drake are standing in Drake's control room. Drake has mapped out the plan for the final assault on Korak's compound. Unlike the last attack, this one ventures deep into the inner sanctum to both steal the machine and attack Korak himself in a final battle.

"Now," Drake says, "since I'm the best with tech, I'll go after the machine. Thirak, I think you'd be best settling the score with your brother once and for all." Thirak nods.

"What about me?" you ask.

Drake and Thirak both look at you. They both seem to be considering something. Finally, Drake speaks. "I'll let you decide. Play the safe route and come with me to steal the machine, or go with Thirak and exact your just revenge on Korak. Your choice."
