Nadira comes with you

"If you wish to assist, you may come." you say.

"Yes, princess," Nadira says, "I would be honored to help."

"Then come," you say. "And there is no need to bow to me, and you may use my name. All of you." you add, glancing at Kohiro and the wizard. Kohiro stands up straight, but the wizard remains slouched so that he does not stand taller than you.

"I suggest we return to Raijin," suggests Kohiro. "He may still have resources we could use." You agree, so the four of you set off to return to Raijin's palace. It does not take long; the wizard uses his magic to quicken your pace.

This time, you know your way around the palace quite well, and easily find the throne room. Raijin is waiting, clearly having just finished combat: his left hand grips a man made of shadows around the neck, holding him aloft, while his right hand holds his spear. The shadow man - an obvious Shadow Assassin - is limp and bleeding from many wounds. The blade of the spear has some blood on it. Raijin is unharmed.

"Hey there, Karuli," he says calmly. "This is Zalian. Number one in physical strength among the Shadow Assassins. Far lower in terms of actual combat ability. It seems the forces of darkness did not know that physical strength alone can never match me."

"An expected result, Emperor," you say. "I doubt that there are many Shadow Assassins remaining now."

Raijin's spear pierces Zalian's head, and the Shadow Assassin disintegrates into a pile of ash. "Less than five," he states. "But there is a more urgent problem. The second Dark Herald has awakened." At this statement, you, Kohiro, the wizard, and Nadira all stare and gape in shock. A Dark Herald...like the one Cryosuke stopped at the cost of his life 1000 years ago...this is not good. "I do not doubt in your ability to kill the Dark Herald and survive, Karuli. You are the Destroyer of Shadows. The 'Power to destroy the Dark One' lies within you. But I will allow you to decide the course of action you desire. If you wish to stop the Dark Herald yourself, I will allow you to use the Thunderhead Gate to teleport to its location. If you decide otherwise, I will go myself."
