Move That Tail!

You wiggle your tail in the heavy, sticky goo, pulling it up and shaking side to side. It appears to be slowly coming loose!  You struggle to move your head, arms, or legs as well, but the grass roots seem to be getting thicker as the view of the sky above you becomes diminished.

Your tail does seem to be gaining more movement however, and you focus on that.  It seems that it can even go deeper into the goo than before as well.  A little more effort and when you raise it up again you can just see it at the bottom of your vision, then you can actually see it.

What a gooey mess!  Not only is your tail thickly coated in the goo, but it has tendrils of the goo pulling on it as well.  You whip that part of your tail against the dense grass and it clings to the goo.  Suddenly, your tail is trapped up against the tall grass!  You pull back on your tail, fighting the grass and you feel you feet move.  They are touching the goo patch again.  With more effort, you jerk your tail back and forth while trying to pull and push your feet at the same time.

The goo creeps up alongside you, loosening the roots of the grass that bind you to the ground.  Finally your tail is freed from the grass and slaps down into the goo patch again.  When you pull it back out you feel the goo creeping up your legs.  This lets you get some more motion and after what seems like hours of effort, your legs are finally free!  There is still grass growing on them and the upper part of your tail, but you are making progress.  You can now feel goo creeping up to your back.  Your motions are making a depression in the grass and ground around you, and the goo is seeping into that depression.

While very sticky, something about the goo is loosening the roots of the grass.  You bring your legs up to your chest, your tail coming with them.  Goo slowly drips from them onto your chest, and you feel the goo creeping further up your back.  One of your hands is no feeling the goo as well.

You feel this is going to work, but will you slip back into the goo patch when you are finally free from the grass?  With the grass growing in your fur, more goo than before will be clinging to you.  But what are your options?   You wiggle your free hand to try to dislodge some more of the grass that is near it.
