Gun locks? NEVER!!

Screw this. Talking wolves . . . talking wolves that turn into squirrels . . . now someone has broken into your house! "Well," you mutter to yourself as you walk to the closet, "whoever they are, in ten seconds they won't be happy." You open the closet door and push aside the old coats and shoe boxes. You take your Lee-Enfield rifle out of the corner and pull the always loaded stripper clip out of a well hidden cubicle. The footsteps are getting closer, but slower, as if the intruder is debating what to do. You pull the bolt, insert the stripper clip, close the bolt, then turn toward the hall door where the footsteps are coming from.

A strange noise makes its way to your ears, a curious, almost imperceptible whine. What could that be? You see the knob turning. Your raise the rifle to your shoulder and flick off the safety with your thumb. There is an instinctive urge to simply blow a hole through the door and sort out the mess later, but your curiousity gets the better of you. You hear the door snick. It begins to swing open . . .
