You and Albert look at each other helplessly. Fred, meanwhile, looks back and forth between you and Albert with a hopeful expression.

"Listen, guys," Albert the gator finally says, "I'll catch up with Carla. You two just, uh, wait here."

"He probably thinks Fred and I will slow him down," you think bitterly. Looking over Fred's corpulent form, then down at your own soft round body, you can only conclude that Albert is right.

"Sure," you respond with a tight smile. "I'll keep an eye on Fred. Good luck."

With a nod and a smile, the wiry gator takes off jogging down the side path. Before he is out of sight, Fred the wolf is nuzzling against your flabby flanks. "Doesn't that food smell delicious?" he sighs. "Let's get a snack while we're waiting, okay?"

You sniff the air with your broad hippo snout--and your mouth begins to water. The food does smell delicious. But the last thing you and Fred need is to get fatter. Can you resist those tempting aromas?
