Sleep Over

You muzzily come round and find yourself between cool, clean sheets. Albert obviously put you to bed. The idea of him undressing you is mortifying; at least you were asleep. The room is quiet, and lit by your night light. A sudden fear clamps down on your heart. Albert! He promised he'd stay with you!

The irrational terror is so strong that you call out for him. Albert appears in the door, pushing your spare bed. He deftly sets this up on the other side of the room, and then sits on your bed.

"It's OK," he soothes, "I said I was here for you, and I meant it." He pulls you into another hug, your head nestling on his powerful chest. "I'll be right here all night, so if you need anything, just holler." He smiles. "Don't worry. We're probably just making a fuss over nothing."

He protectively tucks you back in, then turns out the light. You sleepily watch him slip into his bed before you drop off.

You are plagued by bizarre and feverish dreams, eventually waking yourself with a cry, dizzy and disoriented. In a flash, you feel Albert's arms around you; safe, secure, dependable. "Shh," he murmers, "Just a bad dream." He cradles you gently, but you still feel fuzzy and light headed. A shiver runs through you, but you're baking hot.

Albert is concerned. "You getting sick?" He places a hand on your forhead, and pulls it back sharply. "You're icy cold!"

"Could I have a glass of water or something?" He trots out to get it. You stand up to try and clear your head, but your legs don't feel right. Every part of you tingles, and the room seems to lurch. Your body is suddenly coated in bright sparkles. You wail in terror, and Albert rushes back in.

Then the change begins.
