Addiction

However, you find that you can't stop thinking about the fight. You SHOULD have beaten Albert with one hand behind your back. You're almost twice his width, for goodness' sake! You can't stop thinking about your muscles either. You enjoy the way people ogle them, enjoy showing them off. But you know that they'll be yesterday's news pretty fast. You don't want that. You want more!

Your vague urge crystallises into burning desire. You want to be bigger, stonger, even more stupendous. And you don't care how you get it! The obvious solution leaps to your mind: if magic put this muscle on you in the first place, it could easily add more, couldn't it? You and Albert could both bulk up easily. You tentatively broach the idea to Albert. He explodes.

"What! Never, EVER suggest that again! You're lucky you got away with this one time. Twice is just asking for trouble!"

"Ok, ok!" you soothe. "Forget I mentioned it." But you can't. Nothing bad happened to you before. Albert's just being over-cautious. Wet, even. Maybe he's jealous of how large you are, and doesn't want you to get any bigger. Maybe.. You stamp down on these thoughts, disgusted at yourself. He's your friend!

Still... what he doesn't know can't hurt him. When Albert's seen you home and said goodnight, you slip out and make your way back towards the carnival.

On the way, a scuffling in the bushes makes you jump. You shake yourself angrily. What on earth could harm someone as massive as you? You stride boldly forward and lift whatever it is out of the bushes.
