A Lesson in Diplomacy

In no time, you find the other wolf and approach him. "Hi, Fred! Remember me?" you inquire.

Fred sours. "Yes, I tend to remember someone who kicks me in the face for no good reason. How's tricks?"

You blush, but your fur minmizes the effect. How can you convince Fred to help you after you made such a rotten first impression?
