Faced with Distraction

Before you can get into your car, your neighbor across the street waves at you. He then throws a Frisbee, and you playfully go after it. Clumsily, to your embarrassment, you collide with his Great Dane.

"Real good enthusiasm, but please watch your step around Marvin," he suggests, as the hound lies in a daze, whimpering. Fortunately, your neighbor is too dumbstruck to notice your paws. You stammer a sincere apology and run back to your driveway.

Nervous, you reason that the change may affect both your body and your behavior. You start the car, hit the gas, and go twice the speed limit in the direction of the mall. You relax upon realization that the pedals slightly tickle your paws.
