Offer an Apology

His high-pitched scream causes you to rethink your actions. True, what you did was half instinct, but this is obviously a kid you're dealing with, and you should know better than to lose your temper so easily. You clear your throat, then speak:

"I'm sorry," you bark, your vocal chords not allowing you to sound as sincere as you'd like. The boy ignores you. "I said I'm sorry," you tell him again, but he still does not respond. He turns around, and you try to see if his finger is badly injured. On the contrary, there's not even a visible wound! You blanch, though, at the sight of beard growth on the boy's face. His eyes stare blankly off into space, and his legs wobble. What have you done?
