Hyena Hubbub

As much as Fred could use a hand, you want to get out and look for the demon before things get out of hand. So you and Albert load up into his truck, which you are excited for having not ridden in since you weighed as much as an elephant. As you drive to the gym, you look out the window, looking for signs of the demon, strangely not seeing anything that seems out of the ordinary. "Your probably not going to see anything blatant right away." says Albert, noticing your anxiety.

"Yeah, but I still want to keep an eye out," you say still scanning for either someone immensely fat or muscular. The latter suddenly becomes the norm as you enter the gym.

The gym is packed, as normal, and Albert goes and gets changed. You sit down and watch.

"Hey, who's the kid?" says a hyena lifter, noticing you. "I'm not a kid," you say, "I'm with Albert." Your not surprised no one recognizes you, which is just as well since last time you were here you sent weights flying like a catapult. "I didn't know Albert had a kid." says someone else, "I didn't know he was dating."

"I'm not a kid," you say again, though you have to admit, it is something a kid would say. "Look, just because I'm short does not make me under 20." you say a little frustrated on having to explain this.

"Sure Tiny, we'll just look out for your mom when she comes to pick you up." he retorts, and goes back to lifting. You fume a bit, you swear smoke comes out your ears, and your vision goes red for a second, outlining the hyena, before you blink and look for Albert.

He comes out and begins his routine. "I forgot that some people here are kinda jerks," you say, looking at the lifter.

"Oh, Rick?" he says, "Yeah, he's a jerk sometimes, but between you and me, he's not that bright either. He still thinks no one knows he is hiding his candy in his gym locker."

He goes through his routine, until people start finishing up and heading to shower. You don't really see anything unusual. "I guess you're right," you say, a bit disappointed you were of no help here. "Don't feel bad," says Albert, "Tomorrows always another day... What's going on over there?"

You look and see a few people crowded at the door to the locker room. The two of you walk over. "What's going on," he asks the nearest guy. "Some ones gone nuts in there," he says, and you here someone yelling. Albert can't really see, but you are small enough to walk between the legs of the people crowed around, and make your way into the room.

"It's mine! You hear, mine!" you hear as you get past the crowd, and see the hyena Rick in the middle of the room. A locker has been torn off, which rick is guarding under his arms as he pulls candy bar out of it and stuffs them in his face, wrappers and all. "It's my candy! Get your own!" he says.

"Just calm down Rick, no one is going to take your candy," says another lifer slowly, trying to calm rick down. "I just said that you should slow down with them..."

"I'll eat what I want!" he yells swinging the locker to drive the guy away. a few candy bars drop out of the open end, and he pounces on them, stuffing them in his maw as the other guy retreats. "It's my candy, all the candy is mine!" he yells, then notices there is no more, and throws the locker at the crowd, including you, as he bolts for the exit at the other end. The locker comes flying at you, and you raise a hand instinctively as it hits you...

...and stops. You open your eyes and see the locker resting against your hand, before gravity takes over and it drops to the floor. Rick is long gone. Albert finally pushes through.

"Where did he go, who was it?" he asks.

"Rick." you say, thinking, "Albert, I think... I caused this." you say, thinking back, when you got frustrated. "I think I may have accidently done something when Rick teased me, it can't be a coincidence."

Albert contemplates this. "Either way, we should find him, until we know for sure, he could just be having an episode. He did smash a guys face once for stealing his jelly beans."

Suddenly you feel a lot less guilty.
