A question of curses

When Carla cursed Fred, she was calling on the demons power, he didn't even have to be doing it actively, just by being it had effect. So perhaps it is as simple as you... impart yourself to something and it would be. If that is the case, could you make something have an effect the same way? You could try cursing Rick, but you don't want to risk that, maybe try cursing an object rather then a person, so it would have an effect, but a controlled one, if that is possible. You've seen plenty of movies where things like statues, books, and other mundane objects have a curse on it with specific effects.

"Maybe I can try making a cursed object?" you say.

"Like a ring or something?" asks Rick.

"Something like that, or a book or a hat." you suggest. Rick looks like he has an idea. "I have just the thing," he says, and starts to the door, before realizing he is at Freds. "Um..., give me a bit," he says, and calls a taxi service...
