Exorcism

Angela unlocks the book, while you, Fred and Albert step back. You see Angela feel the pages one by one without opening it. "Ok, everyone close your eyes." She says. You do so, remembering her warning. You hear the sound of the cover hitting the table, and hear Angela chant something in the language Albert used, but much more eliquently. You feel a heaviness in the room, before there is a gust of wind, and you hear the book slam shut. You open your eyes, and see the demon standing on top of the mirror, sitting again in a meditation position.

"Oh, Angela." He says, not turning. "So nice to see you again."

"Bolrug," she says simply. "You are going back."

"Yes, yes, I know. We've been through this so many times." he says politely. "You can't really blame me. An old demon like me only has so many chances in eternity." He get's up and turns to Angela. "Well, it was fun while it lasted," he says with a sigh, "So many new vices."

Angela look sat him, examining him. "Have you left any tricks behind," she says sternly.

"Come now Angela, you know me much better then that," says the demon, "I wouldn't be able to sustain anything once I leave this realm, I've been here no where near long enough to amass that much power. Even considering how easily tempted these mortals are now."

"Bolrug." says Angela sharply.

The demon sighs "I swear on my existence." he says, as if it is a tired old catchphrase. "I really wish you trusted me at least a little after so long. You know I'm, much more compliant then most demons. And I'm certainly no match for one of your caliber, unlike these amateurs." He motions to the three of you.

"I really do wish you would let me have at least one souvenir. I doubt I'll have another opportunity to see the world in the next few millennia. Maybe on of those 'iPhone' things. The void gets boring very quickly, some type of entertainment would be welcome." He looks genuinely disappointed.

"I don't think so," says Angela. She chants a few more words in that strange language, "Return to whence you came." she says.

Bolrug sighs as the circle glows, and you see a... tear open across the circle. "Well, until next time I guess." he says, before hopping into the tear, which seals up, leaving the empty table. Angela puts the lock back on the book.

"You were lucky it was Bolrug, there are quite a few that are much more... unforgiving and violent." she explains, "Even so, he is smarter then most demons, which makes him more dangerous."

"So, it's over then?" Albert asks.

"Yes." says Angela, walking over to Albert, then slapping him upside the head. "That's for messing up my vacation."

"Seriously Ange? " says Albert, rubbing the spot, before Angela gives him a hug. "And that's for being ok." She says.

You and Fred leave the room. "Do you think we should tell her about... you know?" You ask Fred, referring to your temporarily demon transformation.

"No, I mean, you turned back and all. And I don't think she's the type to take chances, so I don't want to see you on a receiving end of one of those... portals." Says Fred.

Thinking about it you agree. Banishment to another plane of existence, just to be safe, sounds like a horrible fate, so you decide to keep quiet.
