A Cartoon Convergence

"You're out of your minds!" you howl at your care-free companions. "Well, you can hang around here and be Lengths' puppets if you want, but I'm outta here!" Turning on your heels, you stomp down the hall and out the front door. You half-expect Fred to call out, "Wait! Come back!" but instead he merely amuses himself by chasing his tail.

Outside, you begin loping down the sidewalk, past row after row of neat suburban homes. "It's just a drawing," you keep telling yourself. "It has to end somewhere." After a few minutes of jogging, the scenery begins to change. The houses become fewer and farther in between. Eventually, you find yourself in a small clearing.

You are standing in some sort of cartoon nexus. In each direction you can see a familiar genre: a medieval world of castles and villages, a gritty urban setting, a futuristic city, a weird alien landscape, and many others.

"Can I hide in one of these worlds?" you think. "Or will Lengths find me no matter where I go?"
