A Return To Normality

When you wake up, you see bright sunshine streaming in through the window of your colorful cartoon house.

You rub your eyes and nudge Fred awake. He slowly stands up, mumbling something about not wanting to go to school.

"Fred," you say, "We really should concentrate on how to get back to the real world. We've defeated Lengths, but that doesn't mean we're home free."

"Yeah I guess you're right." he says, "There has to be a way back to the real world."

"If I know anything about cartoons, then there's a very easy way to get home." you say.

Fred eagerly leans closer to you to hear what you have to say. "Well," Fred says, "What is it?!"

"Elementary my dear Fred," you say, " since we're cartoon characters we have all the abilities of any cartoon character ever made! Observe."

You quickly grab the lightsaber from last night and slice away at Fred. He stands there for a few seconds ... then typically falls apart into ribbons, his eyes dangling in mid-air for a moment before falling into the pile. You then go to work rolling Ribbon Fred up and crocheting him into a nice blanket. You shake the blanket hard, and...

-pop-!!

Fred turns back into his normal cartoon wolf-self. "Okay," he says "I believe you, but how are we gonna make this work to our advantage?"

"Watch," you say as you begin to contort you body. Almost magically, you become your old, 3-D, human, self again! "Now you try it. Just think about what you used to look like and let the cartoon magic do it's work!"

Fred closes his eyes and concentrates. Eventually his body reforms itself back into what you can only guess is his true self (since you've never actually seen the human Fred) as if by magic!

Oh! that's right! It IS magic!
