Let it be Granted

Boy, this is weird. One minute you're working on a tabloid about a haunted castle and some countess, the next you're a puppy standing in front of three saber tooth tigers, a leprechaun, and a floating door. What a stressful night this has been. You're not sure haunted is the word for this castle. But hey, if some saber tooth tigers that randomly appear out of nowhere offer to bestow upon you the power of magic, you're not turning it down. You bow as good as a puppy can, you go down on your front legs and stay up on your hind legs, all the while looking down at the ground. It looks awkward, but it does the job. "I... uh... desiew" desire felt strange to say, but it was the word the tiger used "fow the ability to shape shift."

"No! Ye be ruin'n me pranks!" The leprechaun shouts in despair.

"Let it be granted unto you." The saber tooth tiger responds and all three gently touch your furry head with their snouts and then step lightly away. A silvery myst fills the air. Suddenly you feel a surge of power rush through you. Exhileration fills your tiny puppy boddy. You wag your tail with delight."THIS WOCKS!" You shout.

"But let me warn you young saccharine one," The saber tooth tiger says serenly "If you leave this castle without completing the three tasks -- the task of courage, the task of wisdom, and the task of purity -- You will loose your magnificent aptitude."

You nod somberly. Loosing this power is not something you want to do in this lifetime.

"So what aw my twee tasks?" You ask, pumped with enthusiasm. "HEY!" The leprechaun shouts "I 'ave magic what about me?" "You must be courageous, wise and pure in heart." The saber tooth tiger answers the leprechaun.

"Okaaaay!" You say impatiently "So what aw da twee tasks?"

" First, the task of courage." The tiger says slowly "You must enter into the depths of the dungeon of this castle. There, the countess is keeping a child locked in a cell, eternally trapped in youth-hood. Unless someone conquers the perils that lie below and unlock the cell that keeps her captive, a child she will remain, forever."

The tiny two inch leprechaun gave a hoot "What a clever one that weech is, ay laddie? I wonder what the lass did to deserve such a curse? I should'a thought of it me'self! Don'cha think it's just a wee bit funny? Why would we want ta be goin' break'n that spell?"

"In Arielia courage is to do that which you fear, for the sake of others. No one has yet successfully completed this first task. But do not be afraid. Anytime you are in trouble say my name - Aristhiel." Aristhiel answered softly.(pronounced air-is-thee-el :)

You look past the floating golden door to the ominous arched doorway at the end of the hall. That door must lead to the dungeon. If you want anyone to believe you, you better bring your camera!
