Talking with a fox

"I was hoping there would be some food left around here." You say. "I've been lost in the woods and I'm kind of hungry."

"You don't say." The fox says slowly. He follows your eyes to the bones laying about him. "Unfortunately you came a little late to the party. I would have gladly shared my meal with you but as you can see..." He gestures to his noticeably bulged midriff.

"Someone likes to raid the chicken coop." You reply. "How is one little fox able to eat so much?"

"Heh, you are not the first person to ask that. All my friends who say my diet will be the death of me." The fox laughs nervously. You suppose he has reason to be a little cautious around you, a large and hungry looking wolf. The fox may not be overly fat, but out of shape and with a belly full of food you doubt he could out run a predator.

You also seem to recall that wolves or wolf like creatures like yourself don't normally stop to chat with things they can eat in a single bite.

Thankfully for him you are not the average wolf.

...Right?
