You shouldn't play with things you don't know how to work

The machine sparks, and displays an ERROR message. You hear a metallic voice say "MALFUNCTION! SELECTION INVALID! COMMAND LINK SEVERED!" You realize that you had forgotten to make an actual gender selection before activating, hence the error.

Command link severed? This can't be good.
