A Pleasant Interval

You settle in for your week of involuntary vulpinification.

You find, somewhat to your surprise, that it's not so bad at all. It's a bit of a vacation, and Sarah is so enchanted with you that she waits on you hand and foot (er, paw and paw). You find that a fox's nose, a very limited tool for manipulating things, is at least able to operate a TV remote (though you know better than to even try to use the TF remote).

Sarah insists that you sleep with her every night. Not that sort of "sleep with her", of course. But you curl up against her back under the sheet (neither of you need the blankets anymore), and it's altogether pleasant for both of you.

You are more than a bit concerned that she will enjoy herself a bit too much -- what if she wants to keep her 'precious little foxie' indefinitely? But exactly on time, and with only a small amount of sighing, she sets to work with the remote. The room gets smaller, your bones rapidly shift, and you find yourself on hands and knees rather than on four paws. As you get up and dust yourself off, you find that she has turned you into more or less the male duplicate of herself. Your features are a bit rougher -- your head is still entirely a fox's, for example, rather than Sarah's slightly more human contours -- but your clawed hands are as dexterous as they were before, and you can speak again (though with a heavy accent), and all of that counts for a lot.

She gives you some time to readjust. Amazingly, you don't find yourself rushing off to check your email -- getting back in touch with the human world is bound to involve some awkward moments, and you're not especially eager to start. You just stretch out your new limbs, and eat some lunch with a fork and spoon.

She sits down at the table next to you just as you're finishing up. "Okay, so we're who we are and what we are now. And things are going to be different for us. And there are lots of possibilities. What do you think?"

You breathe in deeply, ponder the question for a while, then exhale and say...
