It Just Takes a Little Magic

Monster: The Magicianess

You are preparing for your role in the haunted house. Apparently, you're supposed to be the assistant to some sort of magicianess. You can't wait. The trick that you're supposed to help perform is being sawed in half, so that's even better. You don't know how that's scary enough to be put in a haunted house, but you don't mind. You're getting paid anyway.

The magicianess walks through the door and into the room.

1: Hi. Are you the one that's supposed to cut me in half?

2: That's me. Now, roll up your sleeves, and let's get to work. Lie down on the ground.

You lie down, not sure what to expect. She pulls a blanket over you so only your legs and feet stick out. You hear her mutter some words but you aren't sure what she's saying.

1: Hey? What're you doing?

2: Ugh. I hate mortal people. I like messing with them, though. I'm doing a spell, just leave me be.

Suddenly, your waist detaches from your stomach, and your legs and feet are no longer connected to your body.

1: What the...? That's so weird! Okay, now put me back.

2: That's the whole point, not to. So I'm not gonna. Just to make you mad.

1: Come on, please?

There's a slow knock at the door.

2: Oh no! That's that mean ghost guy. I'm not sticking around for him, have fun.

The magicianess pulls your legs behind a large table, where she hides. You're too much out in the open so you pull the blanket over your head, quickly. The door opens up, but no one walks in. However, you know that there has to be someone in here. You peak out from the blanket a tiny bit and see the magicianess looking very worried. Then she looks at you and laughs a silent laugh. She pinches your legs.

1: Ouch!

You say that very silently, because you don't want the ghost to hear you. The magicianess pulls ten dollars out of your pocket. You stare at her, annoyed. You knew this job wasn't going to be too fun. The magicianess continues to mess around, moving your legs up and down but just out of sight of the ghost, you hope. You just both need to remain silent, and everything will be fine. You pull the blanket slowly back over your head. Suddenly, you feel a small tickle on your foot. You pear out of the blanket and see that the magicianess is tickling you! You can't let her continue or you're definitely going to laugh, but you can't tell her to stop. You sit under the blanket silently trying not to let out any sound at all, but you know that you're about to laugh. The door quickly closes, and the ghost is gone.

2: Well thankfully that's over!

1: Put my legs back! Now!

The magicianess does a quick spell that re-attaches your legs to your body, and you stand up. This was not the job you signed up for.
