A New Man

As you walk along the dunes, you feel yourself begin to adjust to your new body. Considering everything, it seems to fit well. After a little while, you kick off your shoes, your newly clawed feet better than any shoes you've ever owned. You then brush away the tatters of the clothing you once wore. The more used to your new body you become, the better it seems to fit you. Instead of dragging in the sand, your tail adds balance to your form, making your gait quicker and more predatory.

You walk further across the dunes and soon begin to enjoy the heat, feeling nourished rather than drained. Suddenly you are aware of Loki walking beside you. “Having fun yet?” he sneers. You turn a look at Loki and notice that he is as you are; a giant scorpion.

“Actually,” you reply. “I am. I always found being a human a bit constricting. This sort of form is deadly and powerful. I really like it, Loki. Thank you. I mean it.” You clack your pincers for emphasis.

Loki stops and stares at you for a moment. “You REALLY like it?” he asks.

“I said I did, Loki,” you reply.

“Wow. No one, and I mean no one has ever LIKED one of my tricks before. Well, if you want to stay in that form, I’d be more than happy to oblige”, Loki says. “There is a settlement of Scorpion People about two days in that direction. Let your antenna be your guide. Your antenna will also help you find food. A type of burrowing lizard is quite delectable. Be careful, though; the humans on this world hunt Scorpion People. However, they should be pretty easy to handle.” Loki clicks his claws. “Have fun now,” he says and vanishes.
