Taking Another Cue from Hollywood

"It may sound silly," you admit, "but I read a story once where a werewolf cured someone of a life-threatening disease." You wait for Fred to respond, while he waits for you to continue. When you do not, his eyes gradually widen.

"Wait a minute," demands Fred. "You want me to take a chomp out of your arm? Is that what you're saying?"

You look imploringly at Fred. "I can't bear the idea of being a hippopotamus forever. If you bite me, the worst that could happen is nothing. What do you say, old pal?"

Fred walks back and forth across the room several times, deep in thought. "I don't like this," he warns you, "but if you honestly want me to, I'll go against my better judgment."

"Oh, thank you!" you shout while extending a flabby grey arm. Fred grits his teeth and mumbles something unintelligble. Then, all at once, he pounces and dutifully punctures your forearm with his canines. A few drops of blood appear, scab, and flake off, leaving no trace of the injury.
