Follow the Trail

You decide to follow the trail. After all, it might lead you to the pendant. Sure, it could be a trap or a ruse, but the predicament can't get much worse anyway, right?

You eventually come to a large steel door. Chris pushes it open revealing a large, oval, marble room. A large spiky diamond-like crystal is in the back, against the wall, and an empty pedestal is in the center. Off to the side a large war hammer rests on the ground.

While the others are looking around the room in awe, you head for the crystal and are shocked to see two beings inside: Ashley, who seems to have been re-dressed in a silver dress, and a lizardman. The lizardman seems to be a golden-tan color, with brown stripes. He is partially curled up in the crystal, an almost pitiful expression on his face.

Without knowing exactly why, you grab the hammer (noticing that it is surprisingly easy to lift, especially considering your small female body), and use it to smash the crystal before the others can stop you. Ashley falls out unconcious, but the lizardman falls to his hands and knees, then looks up at you. You are extremely nervous, but hide it well, unlike the others, who start panicing. The lizardman shakes his head, then speaks: "I thank you for freeing me," he says in a deep yet eerily smooth voice. "And as such, I am eternally in your dept. Although it does not do much good for now..."

"Who...what...are you? " you ask, somewhat calmed now that you know that the lizardman is not dangerous.

"You may call me Drakk. I was the first one to be lured here, and the first to fall victim to the traps, which is how I became this. When I lost, I was imprisoned in the crystal. So much time in suspended animation erased all possibility of my ever becoming human again, but I really don't care anymore."

"Wait a minute," says Amy, "The rulebook said that the transportation door would take you to the pendant. So why isn't it here?"

Drakk sighs. "It is. Or at least it was. When that one was transported here alone, she obviously went straight for the pendant, but when she touched it alone, without her entire group being here, she automatically lost, and was sealed in with me, and the pendant vanished."

The moment Drakk finishes speaking, you see yet another white mist around the pedestal. When it clears, you see that a scroll has appeared there. You walk over and open it. There is a list of the people on the teams, with Ashley's name crossed off, along with a note:

One down.........although Drakk has been freed, which is a problem. I suppose that since he has indebted himself to Rachel I could put him on that team to re-balance out. Let the games begin once more.

And with that, a gold wristband appears around Drakk's right wrist. Drakk snarls and smashes the pedestal with his tail, revealing...
