Transformation Stories Contests		Contest Two

First Contest

This contest was announced on August the 8th, and ran through the 17th. There were only two prizes--first and second place, across all categories; that made it hard as heck to judge, since there were so many good ones. The deadline was too short, which kept some people from participating. But still, it produced a heck of a lot of good stories...

There were three categories:

Category 1

A wild animal is raised in close proximity to humans; maybe it's in a zoo or wildlife preserve, or maybe it's even in somebody's backyard. One night, under a full moon, it changes; it rises up on two legs, watches its forepaws lengthen into hands, its fur falling away in clumps to reveal pale pink hew-man skin beneath...

Category 2

Write a Trickster's Tail story set on Halloween Day, 1997--the first anniversary of the party. Category 3

You wake up, and find that you've turned furry overnight--into an animal of your choice, or into a humanoid version of one. How that happened is up to you. (No, you don't get magic powers or anything like that, and you don't get to be a unicorn or other mythical beastie. And you can't change forms; you're not a were-whatever.) Nobody else has changed. What now?
